Orthodontics
WHAT IS ORTHODONTICS?
It is related to the early diagnosis and treatment of dental and skeletal malocclusions of the craniofacial system.
Malocclusions, when not treated in time, cause problems in speech, chewing and smooth respiratory function. Proper orthodontic treatment, by a specialized orthodontist, improves both the health and image of the teeth and face, and leads to a beautiful and healthy smile that increases your self-confidence.
We specialize in orthodontics for children and adults, and offer a variety of advanced orthodontic treatments. Our main goal is to help you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile that will last for years to come. We look forward to meeting you for an orthodontic diagnosis.
SATO ORTHODONTICS
Sato orthodontics is orthodontics without extractions of permanent teeth, which, by applying it, we achieve correction of disproportion, deformity, and jaw dysfunction. To correct an orthodontic problem or occlusion problem, it can be done without surgery with Sato surgical orthodontic treatment.
This technique is also indicated for younger patients who are not old enough for surgery and wish to correct their occlusion and restore the normal growth pattern. The main difference from all other orthodontic techniques is that no extractions are made on permanent teeth, and in the creation of balance in the temporomandibular structure.
ORTHODONTICS Sapphire
They are transparent vestibular systems for the correction of various bite anomalies. Sapphire braces are vestibular and allow the patient to avoid dyslexia disorders during treatment, while maintaining the aesthetics of a beautiful smile.
Transparency
They are made of transparent single-crystal sapphires, which makes them completely invisible in the mouth. Over time, the system does not lose its original shade and shine.
Comfortable to use
Modern manufacturers pay special attention to the polishing process, in order to exclude any injuries to the mucous membranes of the oral cavity. Sapphire braces are very small in size and do not damage tooth enamel, even with prolonged use.
Low allergenicity
The artificially created material from which sapphire braces are made is an inert inorganic compound and thus the occurrence of allergic reactions is extremely rare.
DIAMOND ALIGNER
The Diamond Aligner orthodontic system helps correct crooked teeth without metal braces.
These are virtually invisible aligners, custom-made for each individual patient. They are removable and easy to use. Diamond Aligners move your teeth by applying gentle, targeted pressure to each tooth in turn. This pressure stimulates the cells and the alveolar bone that support the teeth, gradually guiding them into the proper position.
INSTRUCTIONS DURING ORTHODONTICAL TREATMENT
The correct way of brushing teeth and gums is very basic for an orthodontic treatment and we should give it the appropriate attention. Brush 3 times a day and especially after consuming sugar in any form.
After each adjustment of the braces, there may be sensitivity or pain. Rinsing your mouth with cold water in the first few days will relieve you.
During the treatment, some adjustments to the diet are needed. Especially in the first few days, you should consume only soft foods. Then all foods. Make sure to cut your food into small pieces to avoid “accidents”. Beware of pits!
Throughout the treatment, completely avoid foods such as hard meat, hard bread, raw vegetables, chips, nuts, candy, popcorn, chewing gum and anything else that can stick to the braces or cause damage.
The wax given by the orthodontist should be used as often as possible, especially in the first few days. It will help relieve any discomfort and help you get used to speaking faster
For those of you who have various sports activities on your schedule, a special protective splint will be made.
It is very common for a brace to come off or for discomfort or even minor gum trauma to occur. Contact us and we will guide you to correct the problem.
STAGES OF ORTHODONTICAL TREATMENT
During the first visit, we will begin with an assessment of the type and extent of the orthodontic problem. After discussing and agreeing on a treatment plan, we will take x-rays (panoramic – cephalometric), photographs and measurements.
The extraction of wisdom teeth will be done before, during or after the end of the treatment.
The time it takes for each orthodontic treatment to be completed depends on the type of problem and may vary depending on the case. In case of interruption of the treatment, we extend it as much as the time without braces. The treatment can also be extended if we do not follow the instructions given to us and for this reason a problem arises (e.g. damage to the braces due to food sticking to it, poor oral hygiene and
Each type of orthodontic treatment requires a certain amount of time to adapt, we will give you all the necessary instructions so that the treatment progresses as comfortably as possible for you. There may be some discomfort in speaking or chewing in the first few weeks, but with a little patience and practice they will be corrected. Also, some mobility may be observed, which is not worrisome. On the contrary, it contributes to the movement of the teeth.
Consistency in appointments is very important to get the best result in the shortest time of treatment. That is why we should monitor the progress of the treatment every three weeks or at most one month.
If the treatment of choice is braces, you should wear them for as long as necessary, always according to the instructions of the of the attending physician. Otherwise, the teeth are likely to move.
The success of each treatment requires good cooperation between the patient and the doctor. In order to achieve the best result in the shortest possible time, we must work as a team with a common goal! Always follow the instructions given by the doctor and adhere to the schedule of visits. One of the most important parts of the treatment is to wear the braces, always according to the doctor’s instructions. Do not forget that the accuracy, duration and result also depend on you! Pay great attention to good oral hygiene, brushing properly and checking every day that the braces, teeth and gums are spotless. This way we will more easily achieve our goal: a new, healthy, sparkling smile!
In case we need to interrupt the orthodontic treatment for any reason, we remove the braces after consultation and then schedule their re-installation (for information regarding the cost or For more details, please contact your dentist or the secretariat).
