Oral surgery
Oral Surgery consists of surgical pathology and surgery of the oral cavity. It deals with diseases and conditions of the teeth that require surgical intervention.
Oral surgery may include the extraction of supernumerary teeth, impacted or partially impacted wisdom teeth, root remnants, and periapical cysts through procedures like apicoectomy. In certain cases, surgical intervention is also recommended as a preventive measure.
At Solomonidis Dental Care we use the Implant Center Piezoelectric System method.
This system operates through micro-vibrations generated by the piezoelectric effect—the passage of an electric current through ceramics and crystals, causing ultrasonic-frequency deformation. These vibrations are amplified and transmitted to a surgical tip, which, when applied with gentle pressure to the bone, creates cavitation on the surface.
Beyond implant placement, piezosurgery can also be used for:
- In bone surgery.
- In the extraction of wisdom teeth.
